Live video with a licensed SLP
Online speech therapy for kids in Virginia and Illinois
Maybe the closest clinic has a six-month waitlist. Maybe you've got three kids and one car. Or maybe your child just does better at home. Online speech therapy brings a licensed speech-language pathologist to your living room, by live video, with no drive at all.
KL Therapy Services offers online speech, language, stuttering, myofunctional, and feeding therapy for families anywhere in Virginia or Illinois, with live sessions scheduled around school pickups, naps, and work. Karlie Libraro, M.S., CCC-SLP, is licensed in both states.
Who it works well for
Online therapy works for a lot of kids, and it's a great fit when:
- your schedule doesn't leave room for a drive and a waiting room;
- there's no specialist near you for what your child needs;
- your child is more relaxed and talkative at home;
- you want to learn the strategies yourself, right where you'll use them.
It isn't the best fit for every child. If we think your child would do better in person, we'll say so on the first call.
How a session works
Sessions are live and one on one, on Zoom.
Karlie uses games, pictures, and activities on screen to keep kids engaged, and plans each session around your child's age and attention span. For younger kids, you're right there too. We coach you through the activities, so you leave every session knowing what to practice this week.
If the connection drops, we'll reconnect or switch to a backup plan. Technical hiccups happen, and we're flexible about them.

Licensed in Virginia and Illinois
Virginia
Families anywhere in the state can see us online. If you're in Richmond or Henrico, home visits are an option too.
Illinois
Karlie holds an Illinois license and sees Illinois families by video, at the same rates as in Virginia. She earned both of her speech-language pathology degrees at Eastern Illinois University.
Cost and insurance
Private pay is the same for every service we offer. In Virginia, we're in network with several plans, including Virginia Medicaid. Illinois families pay privately, and we'll give you a superbill to send to your insurance, though reimbursement isn't guaranteed.

Questions families ask
What is online speech therapy?
It's live video with a licensed speech-language pathologist. Sessions include real-time interaction, assessments, and activities chosen for your child's goals.
Is online speech therapy as effective as in person?
For many kids, yes, when it's delivered by a qualified clinician. We'll tell you honestly if we think your child needs in-person sessions.
Is my child too young for video sessions?
Not usually. For babies and toddlers, online sessions focus on teaching you what to do, so the practice carries over into your everyday routines.
What do I need at home?
A stable internet connection and a computer or tablet with a camera and microphone. A quiet corner helps, but it doesn't have to be perfect.
What if we have technical issues during a session?
We're flexible. If needed, we'll reconnect, reschedule, or switch to a backup plan.
Can we switch between online and in person?
If you're in Richmond or Henrico, yes. Some families mix the two.
